What people are saying about our site:
"Jerry, It is Monday am, I've just got to the office & decided to check out the GHS website. It is fabulous. Thank you for all your hard work, Mike & Don too. I clicked on some of the old gang and was glad to see that I'm not the only one w/no history"...-Betty (Gray) Pandit

"Do you by any chance have one list of everybody with their information rather than having to pull up each individual one? If so, can you email it to me or can I get it from this site?" .....-Alice (Boucher) Oldak
[We intend to put the complete Roster up one of these days so that it can be downloaded for viewing and printing. There will be a link on the main page once that is available. One of our concerns is that we don’t want just anyone to be able to download it; I’m sure we all get enough junk mail and spam, as it is. -jerry-]

"Thanks Jerry for all the hard work you and everyone has done to put the class of "66" on the web, I really enjoyed taking a stroll down memory lane and love the way to keep in touch with classmates. I will up date my page and get current pictures. I think its great to see everyone now versus then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As Always"......- Tommie (Herman) Roberson
"The website looks great! I was really shocked to see how many classmates have passed away! Do you have any of the details?"..... -Mary Anne (Gregg) Hauser
[As people report or find details, we are posting that to the individual classmate's page. Some of these details have been added; others we are still awaiting. -jerry-]

" I love the website! This is great and I will be checking out everyone in the class as time allows. I certainly appreciate all the hard work you guys are putting into this. I just have a little info for you to update. I will try to write some type of history up and send that to you later. Thanks."..... -Laqueta (McClanahan) Dukes

"Did you know you have a few...no many...screws loose? Thanks for all you guys are doing. Love V"..... -Vicki (Balduf) Harvey

"Just looking at the web site for the first time. Y'all are wonderful. Great idea and appreciate your hard work and dedication in getting it up and going. Please pass that along to all involved. Will try to get some info for my page.".....-Dyane (Wilson) Martin

"Fantastic job on the development of the web page. I really enjoyed reading your bio! Keep up the good work!"..... -Janet (Blanke) Reiprish

"Jerry, the site looks great--many thanks for the time you and Mike and Don have expended. It'll give us all something to do in our golden years."..... -Danny Elmore

"Just wanted to put in my 'two cents worth' to say great job on the site and all the other behind the scenes work that I know must go on to get this going as well as other related issues. What can we do to encourage folks to submit 'history' info as well as more current stuff? Do you have a group working on that part of the site? I've clicked on several classmates mostly at random in an attempt to see what, if anything, others may be submitting and frankly my own hesitation comes from not seeing others who have submitted anything. I'm a bit timid to submit anything based on not wanting to first of all bore folks with my not so enthralling life but mainly because there isn't a 'guide' to follow ..."-Beverly (Martin) Ragsdale
[There is no one working on this per se. We, too, thought it would be cool to read about what people have been doing since graduation, no matter what it was. You have to start somewhere, which is why Mike elected me to be the first. Hopefully that would get the ball rolling. Maybe everyone is like you (timid) or just have better things to do right now. One or two others have said that they will send in something as soon as they get around to it. Perhaps when they (and you) get it to me for posting, the ball might actually start rolling. The thing is, one does not have to have been in the Miss America Pageant or played in the Super Bowl. My life has been pretty nondescript and mundane, but that did not stop me. So go, girl! -jerry-]

"Are we going to put up any pics or info about other stuff .... family related things as a matter of 'history' .... even though not us directly?"-Beverly (Martin) Ragsdale
[Beverly asked a very good question and, since I replied to her, she already knows the answer. I put this in the Feedback section so that everyone would know. Mike worked long and hard putting the site layout together and keeps enhancing it. He, Don, and I talked about it at length. While we tried to design in some flexibility, it is not always easy to accommodate every request.
That being said, the important thing for everyone to remember is that this is not Mike's web site. It is not Don's web site. It is not Jerry's web site. It is your web site! Mike's got a real job, and I am a neophyte at this so we may be a little slow with a response. But short of a complete or major re-design, we will make this site whatever you want it to be. We may have to fudge it a bit (go to the bottom of Beverly's page to see an example - it took me 3 or 4 tries to get this to work and still be presentable), and you may have to be patient, but it is your web site. -jerry-]

Jerry as you know this was my first time to look at the website. It is great!!!! Everyone is doing a great job. I enjoyed it so much. Thanks so much for all the hard work everyone is doing. I shared it with all the people in my office and they were amazed. So keep up the hard work it is appreciated. -Claudette (Byrd) Cockrum

You guys have done a tremendous job on this web site. I love it! Even though having a family has given me "roots," this website makes me feel more connected. You all need to be really, really proud of this. Now if I just knew who all of those people [meaning those in the 2002 picnic pictures, I think -jerry] were!! -Linda (Knowles) Crego

Just looked at the pictures from the picnic. Really hate missing it. Looks like you had a good time (and good weather). Returned from a week-long vacation around 1:30 am Friday night/Saturday morning and just couldn't get going due to jet lag or fatigue. What did you decide about having similar events in the future, think you were going to discuss the feasibility. Hope you decided to do others in the future. -Dyane (Wilson) Martin
[On the one hand the turnout (about 25, including spouses and friends) was a little sparse. Less than we had anticipated based upon early indications. However, on the other hand it wasn't a reunion, per se, and everyone there had a good time. We originally thought that tieing the picnic to the GHS Homecoming game would be a good idea. Really, no matter what date one picks, there is going to be a conflict with someone's schedule. Dottie came from Knoxville (with her new husband whom we all gave the once over and approved); Ed and Janice came from northern VA. All of whom missed last year's reunion because of conflicts back then.
[The turnout for the football game was even sparser. True, there were forecasts (50-50) for rain that night. And, true, the 2002 Colts were winless at the time (and lost that night, too.) But the rain part, at least, never kept us away from the games 35+ years ago. Tommy Baucom and I, in fact, remembered and talked about the infamous Litton games; both fought to 0-0 scores in the mud and pouring rain - and still the crowd then was SRO.
[That being said, we never "formally" talked about having any future picnics or gatherings. Informally, though, we talked about the possibility of having, maybe, a couple a year. One probably still linked to homecoming. (The '77 class, btw, turned out in droves for the homecoming game. While it was part of their 25th reunion, one of them said they usually turn out 100+ each year. Tommy and I put a stop to the braggadocio by asking, "What's your web site address?") After all, while still somewhat arbitrary, it can't be said that we fudged it in any way.
[But there are a lot of people who cannot make an October date due to business or other reasons. So maybe having a second, planned gathering in late spring or summer might be doable. The picnic shelter only cost me $25 for the whole day and everything else was brought by the attendees. So it's not like there's a whole lot of effort and expense involved.
[So let the Reunion Committee know if you think it's a good idea - without any commitment that you'll actually be there being assumed. You can send comments to me and I'll copy the rest of the RC, or send them to any RC member (they're listed in the "Things You Should Know" section). If we have enough positive feedback, we'll probably connect sometime after the year-end holidays and discuss it. If you have other ideas (other than a picnic), send those. Heck, the idea for the picnic didn't originate with any RC member; it came from one of you! -jerry]

THANKS FOR ALL THE HARD WORK YOU ALL HAVE DONE ON THE WEBSITE, IT IS GREAT! I ENJOY LOOKING AT IT... WILL TRY TO GET YOU SOME INFORMATION SOON FOR THE HISTORY PAGE.... -Cheryl (Mistich) Bush
